NO COLOR NO LIFE!

Serge Lutens~a great artiste at all time. RESPECT!

First I fell in love with these revolutionary cosmetic campaigns for Shiseido in the 1980’s. I say revolutionary because no other makeup ads looked like Shiseido at that time…they were art. I soon discovered that the makeup artist was SERGE LUTENS. He was hired as the Makiage creator and the exclusive color theorist for the twice yearly lines of Dior, before Shiseido. What I didn’t learn until later was that Serge created the entire production from start to finale. So after working with the color technicians, he chooses the models, designs their costumes and hairstyle, applies the makeup, sets the mood in his Paris studio (for one shoot he hired a string quartet to play) and then when his vision comes to life he captures the image on film. In 1973 the Guggenheim museum gave Lutens an exhibition of his photo interpretation of his favorite painter’s; Renoir, Picasso, Van Dongen, Delauney, Leger, and Modigliani, entitled “Makeup Art”. In 1980 S.L. left Dior to serve for 20 years, as the image creator for SHISEIDO, the top brand in Japan, where he continued his innovative magic. By 2000 Serge indulged his lifelong passion for fragrance creating at present count, twenty one different scents. He also developed “Necessaire de Beaute” (essential beauty minimum) a range of eye shadows, lipsticks and kohl all under the label SERGE LUTENS for SHISEIDO. These days Serge spends time in his boutique the luxurious “Les Salon du Palais Royal” designing everything from jewelry to furniture.

Drag?! Creative?!

My mentor ~ Caroline Young.

Without Caroline, I don't think I'm able to be who I'm today.
With her gentle care and training, Caroline encouraged me for who I am today.

As in me memory lane, I started of working with MAC at Knightbridge, London.
I was just a quiet, happy bunny and crazy 'kampong boy' with all sort freaky hairstyle trying to make it in London as a makeup artiste, very much happy to just settled with MAC as Retail Artiste. Till I met Caroline who was my trainer at the time, who encouraged me to improve my communication skills, makeup technique and how to be a great person in your own way as an artiste. By her showering me with all the latest trend and makeup technique, I am able to worked with some of the top artiste in the world, like Sharon Downsett, Val Garland, Gordon Espinet, Lucia Peroni, Terry Barber..etc etc. By working with all the artiste mentioned earlier, I've got the chance to expose to London Fashion Week and Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. Amazing experiences and great expose. I valued every minute of it.

Caroline is one of the greatest artiste I've ever met.

THANKS! CAROLINA........

Love this tag line by Illamasqua.

Ode To My Alter Ego
My alter ego is the person I want to become.
She's darker, bolder, braver.
She's a more interesting version of me.
She doesn't hold back.
She doesn't give a damn.
Sometimes, I let myself become my other I.
When she walks out and takes over,
I fall in love with who I am

Alex Box, creator of ILLAMASQUA.

Alex Box has a background in fine art, She didn't intend to become a Make-up Artist but just ended up here. When her Art grew and took to the body and face it was noticed and a slight change of direction was suggested by friends.
Which means that her career as a make-up artist was born out of sheer talent rather than intention.
Today, Her make-up explores the relationship between art, science, nature and the magical.

Alex told us that she never has a plan when creating a look. It just comes about organically and while she appreciates that the visuals may not be to everyone taste, the fact that they are getting talked about is exactly the point.

After meeting the cast of colorful characters behind Illamasqua I really feel that this is a totally unique brand.
Unique because Illamasqua is fuelled by passion, raw talent and a huge respect for what each individual brings to the table.
Rather than creating easy to sell diluted products Illamasqua take risks and ultimately its paying off.

ILLMASQUA ~ new range of cosmetic created by Alex Box.

Gotta know about this range of cosmetic by an old pal of mine back in London. Love the visual! Very CREATIVE and DRAMA! ( the visual may be too eye catching, till your eye may hurt by looking at it!!!! you been warn! ) Hope I am able to try this products one day.....
Audrey, ship some to me pleaseeeeeeeee...............

Not for the faint hearted, Illmasqua's Dystopia is a strong statement of defiant confidence. Where the dark meets the light. Monochrome shades build and blend, brought alive by flashes of intense pink and lurid purple, while dazzling pigments, metallic textures and iridescent finishes all add to the drama of this strikingly uncompromising look.

HAVE FUN!

MAC eyeshadows....ME LOVE!!!!!!!!

Every makeup artist has a secret obsession with MAC. They have the most comprehensive line of eyeshadows, and blushes around. The colors are outstanding, and the textures are insanely smooth. I have never tried a MAC eyeshadow or blush that I didn't like. MAC has a new collection that is by far my favorite. I want everything. EVERYTHING. Every single item in this collection needs to be mine! I'm greedy, innit?! arrrrgh...

The Starflash eyeshadows are creamy, shimmery, and give normally bright colors a soft, sultry edge. You don't have to be afraid of applying the bright purple, blue, or green eyeshadow because all the colors are ultra wearable. I am seriously having one of my makeup induced panic attacks....these colors are all limited editions! The horror!

La Mer

Even though I hate to endorse ridiculously expensive products I must tell you about my all time favorite face cream. You can use it all over as a face cream, eye cream, and lip cream. And yes, it is ridiculously expensive, but when you consider that it is an "all in one" product it makes the price a little more reasonable. Actually, that's the excuse I tell myself to justify the value or the cream.

The great thing is that Creme De La Mer also makes a gel version which has a lighter feel for us who are living in the hot climax. The gel version is also a wonderful alternative to the cream for oilier skin types. So you can try either one, and still get the same amazing results.

La Mer's newbie~the radiant concealer SPF25

As a concealer aficionado, fan of Creme De La Mer, I was pleased to hear about the hybrid of my two favorite beauty products. Seriously, thrilled to bits! I think I may have even squealed with delight and did a happy dance.

The Radiant Concealer did not disappoint me. The consistency is creamy, and replicates the feeling of your favorite eye cream. It glides right onto the skin, and it stays on forever. I was so delighted with the performance, and quality of this product. This is by far one of the most exceptional concealers I have tried, and I have tried them all.

Now, I am the first to admit that RM248 is a hefty price to pay for a concealer, but it is worth every penny. Not only does the product work, but a little goes a long way, and you will have this marvel for a very long time. I am so jubilant about this, that I'm able use it alone or with La Mer the treatment fluid foundation. YIPPY!

For a more detailed explanation, here is the breakdown:

* A treatment cream concealer that optically corrects dark circles and blemishes to create a naturally flawless finish.
* This treatment cream concealer instantly evens the skin’s appearance while adding radiance.
* Gemstones capture light energy to camouflage dark circles and blemishes, optically erasing imperfections to create a smooth, even finish.
* Precious marine and plant extracts help reduce the appearance of under eye puffiness, lines and wrinkles and minimize pores.
* Redness and discoloration are diminished as skin is continuously calmed and soothed.
* Fine layers provide buildable coverage.
* Skin stays naturally flawless all day. SPF 25.

Base...

About the base..here is something to share.

There is so many foundations there are on the market, not to mention what they promise and claim. Haha...confusing, kan. The rule when buying foundation, never ever match your foundation to your jawline, as your neck is the palest part of your body ( the jaw blocks out the sunlight to this area ). Always match foundation to your chest area, because your face and body must be the same colour. Also, when your body tans (either naturally or as a result of a suntaning/fake tan), you must aslo darken your foundation to match. Two tone paler will appear on the face, otherwise ( unless one who loves her face to be paler than her actual body, then by all mean she can do so, thats what it happen in our country, THE FACE MUCH PALER THAN THE BODY AND HAND). So, i believe every woman should own at least 2 shade of foundation.

Here are the some of the foundation that i have try and love.
Chanel Lift Lumiere Fluid Make Up SPF15, it very sheer and luminous, and it give the skin a natural sheen just like baby skin.
For slightly heavier coverage for the same effect, I'd love La Mer the treatment fluid foundation, as it contains with the miracle broth created by Dr Hubert for La Mer. It will treat the skin with the miracle broth as well as look stunning at anywhere you go. Glow all the way. Stars product!!!!
For matte finish, I'd love Geogio Armani matte silk foundation. As its not only give the skin a matte finish yet it give a sheen of natural glow just like silk. Wonderful stuff!
For total matte finish, I'd love Bobbi Brown Oil Free Even Finish Compact Foundation, as it will mattify the face. Great for oily skin. My all time favorite foundation is MAC Face and Body Foundation, as its water based and super sheer texture yet its water resistant ability, your base will last you tru out the day. I'd love love love this products ( this product are limited item in Klcc and Mid Vali store only ) If you can't get his product, Clinique superfit make up has almost the same effect. For heavy coverage yet natural finish for certain problem skin, I'd like Cle de Peau Teint Naturel Satine, it covered up all the skin flaws yet a natural satin finish. Another 5 stars product!!!!
